The Tick is a superhero created by cartoonist Ben Edlund [1] in 1986 as a newsletter mascot for the New England Comics chain of Boston -area comic book stores. The character is a parody of American comic book superheroes. The character later spun off into an independent comic book series, multiple TV adaptations, and a video game.

With the aid of Die Fledermaus, American Maid, Sewer Urchin, and other superheroes, the Tick and Arthur protect the City from bad guys like Chairface Chippendale, Breadmaster, El Seed, the Terror, and others who would harm it.
