But really its more of a nod to the traditional ways and what they use on customs and stuff to get them more close to the original specs of the 50s guitars they made. Feb 18, 2012 · Titebond is the simple man's hide glue & much easier to use for this kind of repair. Hide glue is much more involved (and for many also difficult- you'll see why in a minute). Real hide glue comes in a powered form that must be mixed with a specific amount of water (the amount of which gets mixed with the powder is based on weight, not volume).

Dec 30, 2012 · I believe the TV line uses hide glue on the neck joint and bracing only. I believe Tightbond glue is used elsewhere, including to adhere the fretboard to the neck. To my knowledge, only the Legend line uses hide glue throughout the guitar.
