Hi-MD is a magneto-optical disc-based data storage format. It was a further development of the MiniDisc. [1] . With its release in late 2004, [2] came the ability to use newly developed, high-capacity 1 gigabyte Hi-MD discs, in the same dimensions as MiniDisc. [2] . The last recorder and player was discontinued in 2011. [3] .

Jun 6, 2022 · The Hi-MD discs are quite expensive so not really worth it IMO. However as someone with 3 Hi-MD recorders, I don't really see the value if you're going to be keeping one album to a disc.

Hi-MD mode features are much newer than NetMD and there may be bugs. You may lose data on your discs. There are two ways to access Hi-MD modes in Web MiniDisc Pro: Restricted and Unrestricted.
