In Switzerland today, HEKS/EPER provides legal representation and advice to refugees and asylum seekers and, through various integration projects, promotes migrant participation in social life on an equal basis.

There are numerous technical specialists working together on over 250 projects in an interdisciplinary and cross-sectional manner at the HEKS/EPER headquarters in Zurich, in the six Branch offices and in more than 30 countries on four continents.

HEKS/EPER provides humanitarian assistance around the world for victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts and supports the diaconal work of churches in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Worldwide | HEKS
HEKS/EPER supports development cooperation, humanitarian aid and church cooperation projects in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. HEKS/EPER runs its own Coordination Offices in 17 priority countries or primary-focus regions.
Organization | HEKS
HEKS/EPER became a non-profit foundation in 2004, with its headquarters in Zurich. Its supreme body is the Board of Trustees, which tasks the Executive Board with operational management.

HEKS/EPER welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas which came into force on 19th January 2025 which provided for the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, as well as Israel's military withdrawal from parts of the Gaza Strip and expedited the entry of humanitarian aid materials into Gaza.
