Jul 4, 2021 · The heading indicator isn't a magnetic compass. It works off of a gyroscope, and as such will drift over time instead of just pointing North. A magnetic compass doesn't handle acceleration or banking turns well and will lie, hence the need for the heading indicator - and that's why you're seeing a difference here.
