Having a chance to tour Sig Manufacturing after being a customer for more than 40 years and attending the fly-in was worth the 8-hour drive alone, but seeing Hazel again, shortly after her 100th birthday, and interviewing her was special.

Her siblings were Mearle, Treva, and Harold. Hazel’s Dad was a Mechanic and Racecar Driver, and her mother was a Housekeeper.

Hazel Sig was presented with both the CL and RC Scale Hall of Fame awards this year, and her name is on the boards at the National Model Aviation Museum. The RC Scale Hall of Fame inducted its first recipients this year.
