May 28, 2023 · The Hayle is a small, shallow estuary and harbour. The fishing here can be great for thick lipped and golden grey mullet, as well as gilthead bream (which run to a good size) and bass.

May 30, 2010 · i know of a few good bass taken from the mouth of the estuary using plugs, but i never caught one down there myself using that method, like cfish says, try worm and crab baits, fishing either side of 'the point' down there using a running ledger, try using frozen eel later in the year. best of luck mate

Sep 13, 2011 · Hayle is a salt water estuary, when the tide comes in it goes up the river and floods massive salt water flats and also spills into a large salt water pool. When the tide turns the massive volume of water which has built up rushes back down river - its a massive shift of water down a narrow river.
