In this incarnation, Hastur has several Avatars: The Feaster from Afar: A black, shriveled, flying monstrosity with tentacles tipped with razor-sharp talons that can pierce a victim's skull and siphon out the brain. [10]

The most favoured interpretation, popularised by the role-playing game Call of Cthulhu, presents him as an avatar of Hastur, and one of the best known forms of the deity.

He has at least one avatar, the Emerald Lama, an alien-looking monk in a green robe.

In this incarnation, Hastur has several avatars: The King In Yellow. The High Priest Not to Be Described (last Elder One), an entity that wears a yellow silken mask, although the identification is disputed. Hastur's form is amorphous, but he is said to appear as a vast, vaguely octopoid being, similar to his half-niece Cthylla.

Apr 20, 2023 · Hastur is always listening and there is at least a 50% chance he will appear to those who say his name in his humanoid avatar. Hastur is a god of the far realm, but unlike the rest of his kind he is more of a muse than a destroyer.

He has at least one avatar, the Emerald Lama, an alien-looking monk in a green robe. In the rare cases of possession, the victim's skin becomes scaly and their limbs seem boneless. The nature of Hastur's true form (if he has a "true form") is still a mystery. The Tcho-Tchos and the people of K'n-yan are both known to worship Hastur.

Some see the King in Yellow as a distinct persona from Hastur, a kind of avatar or herald. Others interpret Carcosa as a physical manifestation of Hastur’s presence—a realm outside time and space where the natural laws of our universe dissolve.
