Haplogroup O, also known as O-M175, is a human Y-chromosome DNA haplogroup. It is primarily found among populations in Southeast Asia and East Asia. It also is found in various percentages of populations of the Russian Far East, South Asia, Central Asia, Caucasus, Crimea, Ukraine, Iran, Oceania, Madagascar and the Comoros.

With a 95% probability, the most recent common ancestor of all members of haplogroup 33,791 25,355 BCE. He is the ancestor of at least 2 descendant lineages known as O-F265 and O-M122. Descendant lineages are identified as people test their Y-DNA with the Big Y test.

Our results suggest a strong paternal genetic link, not only among the subgroups of Indian Austro-Asiatic populations but also with those of Southeast Asia. However, maternal link based on mtDNA is not evident.
