What is Haiku? Haiku is an open source operating system under constant development. Specifically targeting personal computing, Haiku is a fast, efficient, simple to use, easy to learn, and yet very powerful system for computer users of all levels.
Haiku Downloads
To install Haiku, we offer stable release builds as well as nightly builds which are continually built by a cluster of dedicated machines from the latest Haiku source code.

2. This panel (depending on your hardware it can take a while to appear) lets you set the system language and keymap. Then you decide to either Install Haiku on a partition or Try Haiku by booting to the desktop directly from CD/USB drive. Choose to install Haiku for this guide.

Why isn’t it called HaikuOS? The name of the project is simply “Haiku”. Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts, the registration of haiku.org has not been possible; hence the reason for haiku-os.org. Where does the name Haiku come from? Haiku is named after the classical three-line Japanese poetry form.
