Oct 22, 2018 · "Ha" can be a shortening of "haha," but it has other uses too. It can be used as a cry of success or victory, which "haha" can't. It can be used derisively or sarcastically, which "haha" sort of can but which is stronger with "ha." There are probably more I that aren't occurring to me right now.

LOL once meant that a comment was so funny that it literally made one Laugh Out Loud. It has been overused so much that it has become just a slight notch above 'haha.' LMAO somewhat replaced LOL's original intent, but also became watered down. Then came ROTFL (Rolling On The Floor Laughing), etc. I would say these days, LOL and 'haja' are on par.

lol - not really a laughing thing, just something to end a sentence if you have nothing else to say lmao - depending on how it’s said, can be an actual reaction to something funny. if it’s just “lmao” it’s probably just because you have nothing else to say, if it’s “LMAO” it was actually funny, and if it’s “LMFAOOOO” then it was really funny.
