Dec 14, 2022 · My guess is that the HSC performs a couple of functions - Tuning adapter (make SDV channel requests) and modulating the cable card authorization band from the new high band to the lower band that the card can use, hence the need to feed the HSC output to the Tivo, where this was not necessary with an old TA.

Jan 21, 2023 · You may be able to get an HSC by calling the cable card support number 866-532-2598. This starts out with the regular voice menu, just keep saying "cable card." Be sure to tell them about the letter.

The fact that the HSC replaces the existing TA’s mean the HSC is doing double-duty, not that SDV is no longer being used and the task performed by older TA’s is no longer needed.
