Midland Bank became HSBC (Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation) in 1999. The hexagon symbol from the previous logo was carried over, now appended with the "HSBC" name. This coincided with a company-wide rebranding at the wider HSBC group.

Apr 16, 2024 · To keep the bank recognizable, the designers kept its iconic logo. They only moved the abbreviation to the right, replaced the thin vintage font with a bold sans serif, enlarged the graphic element, and increased the brightness of the red color.

The HSBC Group is headquartered in London, England. HSBC rolled out a refreshed logo (above) in 2018, while the famous hexagon symbol has remained, the serif for the logotype has been replaced by a sans serif, which looks like Univers Bold .
