HMS Hood - R/C Warship Combat
Nov 23, 2020 · One doesn't build HMS Hood for its specs, but for its distinctive british-ness. It has a unique appearance that only the british could love, and a turning circle to match. WWCC had one for years, and it was a solid performer until her captain built a …
HMS Hood | R/C Warship Combat
Jan 26, 2009 · Hood achieved 32 knots on trials (fittingly I'd built the model as Hood upon commissioning), so has a speed of 28 sec/100'. It has to be slowed down only 4 sec/100' from its IRCWCC speed. We discussed my experiences with the Hood model under IRCWCC rules and concluded dual stern guns would not be useful under Treaty rules either due to the ...

Feb 2, 2007 · Mikey's Hood doesn't seem to do too badly in the Washington Treaty club so I may configure it for those rules. I'm going to replace the rudder with one of those high tech ones that seem to have made the Vanguards more maneuverable. Hood's only 4" longer and her aft turrets arer closer to the water.

Jun 16, 2009 · I built my 1921 version of Hood (now owned by Larry Dingle) using the 'Anatomy of the Ship' series book on Hood - best plans available for all versions in my opinion. Bob Pottle , Jun 19, 2015 #2

Nov 3, 2015 · Thought I should post photos taken of my 'disarmed' HMS Hood before she was sold to Larry Dingle last Sept. The model was built with the first hull from my 1997 mold, now owned by Strike Models, and used plans from 'Anatomy of the Ship: The Battlecruiser Hood' to represent her as on trials in 1921.
HMS HOOD | R/C Warship Combat
Aug 12, 2009 · Ian's supposed to bring Hood back this week to install the cannons and smaller props to get her down to 28 sec. Treaty speed. She was running with 35mm 4-blade props for the 24 sec. IRCWCC speed. Ian will try 30 mm 4-blades but might have to order a set of 3:1 Master Airscrew reduction gears to switch for the present 2.5:1.
Bob Pottle ships - R/C Warship Combat
Apr 5, 2014 · Bob Pottle, just thought I would post about the ships I have you built. HMS Courageous, HMS Minotaur, HMS Hood, and my son Ben’s SNS Canarias, all are now in my den displayed. I always thought you built your ships with detail that most builders didn’t do knowing they would be shot at and sunk. As a sailor that means a lot to me.
HMS York - R/C Warship Combat
Feb 2, 2007 · It has a new CO2 system that Ian and I installed a couple of years ago, which is an improvement over the original system. The model is of Hood on trials in 1921, and has a detailed superstructure built from the plans in 'Anatomy of the Ship: HMS Hood'. Hood suffered cosmetically in the years it was out of my hands but nothing major.
