Aug 12, 2023 · That’s an Original style Geissele SMR rail. The hole are vents not meant for attaching items. I believe S&S made a surefire light mount that would fit in the vent channels. It’s rare and stupid extensive You can use Mlok but it’s not a great fit. I’ve attached Magpul scout light mounts in the channel also.

That being said, I am curious why the push to the newer slick rails...

Mar 17, 2022 · The SMR Mlok lacks the aesthetic appearance and pleasing feel of the original but adds more utility and universality without their plug-and-play proprietary rails. IMHO...a close 2nd The RAHG is bulkier and wider. Fit has seemed to vary. Price/availability is wonky and stupid. Aesthetically and feel it's fine.

Jun 21, 2021 · So, I've just recently realized that my upper with a Geissele SMR installed is not compatible with my lower, which is a non-416 lower. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way and I think I ruined my locking bolt because I'm an idiot. Praying I didn't ruin the threads on the handguard itself, but I'll know tomorrow when I get a new screw.
