May 15, 2023 · We really need to pass legislation to clarify the language in the statute like California did (which used to have the similar language to Hawaii). The old language, which still exists in Hawaii, states that you must move over if you are, "proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic". This lead to some confusion.

The Building of H3 is a long sorrid story full of opposition, court battles, a last minute change of route, and a waiving of environmental regulation. It took something like 30yr to get it built and was way over budget (sound familiar).

That may be the most expensive per mile for an entire freeway but there are plenty of stretches of highway that cost more- 3 that I know of- The eastern span of the Bay Bridge on I80 cost $6.5 billion for 2 miles.

Jun 14, 2024 · Dan needs to give us the highway report on the H3 highway, located on the island of Oahu. He reported on H1 in a previous episode, but completely missed the opportunity to report on H3. As far as I know from driving here, there are 3 major highways: H1, H2, and of course H3.
