The WC was fitted new in 2011 and the internal components do not function due to this black stuff. i.e the fill valve doesn't stop anymore - just keeps filling. Are you in a hard water area? Have a small water tank for the gunge, not sure how that side is going to work yet. Going for an 1 1/2" outlet, this may be a bit slow for the gunge but we'll soon find out. Have also found some 2" or even 3" gate valves online if we need to go for a faster release.

May 26, 2010 · If your toilet is the bench type you can get to the flush tank easliy by removing the toilet roll holder - just pull straight out upwards, you can then reach most parts with a suitable brush.
