Jul 19, 2022 · From what I can tell so far, it seems like SEED is kind of in that weird point between "classic" Gundam (UC and Wing) and "modern" Gundam (00 and IBO), and this is apparent in the pacing and mech designs.

Maybe you are remembering the movies, where 99,9% of all the jank, incredibly bad animation, weird camera angles and shit direction was taken out by editing or even redrawing scenes. But the OG series is really bad by any quantifiable metric.

Only 79 and Zeta are considered to be legimately good because very few gundam fans actually hate on it, and they are the predecessors. Gundam fandom is non-existent outside Japan, and Japan themselves dislike every gundam AU outside Seed. 00 is unwatchable after season 1.

Aug 29, 2009 · Though I should also point out the good guys in the original Gundam tended to be drawn with large eyes, and the bad guys with more narrow eyes, which is a tradition in Mangaka, and is pretty much present in every anime and manga series, with little to no exception.

I don't know why others dislike it. But for me, none of the characters really grabbed my attention. The voice acting of the Seed cast sounds like voice actors whereas in Gundam they sound more like normal people. I also wasn't fond of the art style, the mech design or even the music.
