One day someone offered to trade me a D-18 for an ES-335 I had, so I went up to the store and played a D-18 to see if I felt there was any need for another mahogany dreadnaught and came to the conclusion that there was not.

It now joins my 1984 Guild S280 electric and 1991 Guild Pilot Bass. 1974 Guild D35: It's naturally relic'd with checking, dings, scratches and whatnots. All lovely! The tone is tight, with great resonance and articulation. It has a nice bottom end with great mids and highs.

It seems like the only difference from what I can tell besides cosmetics is the arched back of the D-25 vs. the straight back of the D-35, and from what I've been reading online it seems that more people generally prefer the arched back D-25 to the D-35.

Aug 16, 2011 · Just because a Guild was made in Westerly, it doesn't mean that it will be the best guitar that Guild built. Some people will try to convince you of that though. Guild guitars are among the best built and sounding guitars no matter where they were produced. Don't be afraid to buy a Guild that came from Tacoma or New Hartford.
