GUBA is the mascot of the men's athletic teams, the Golden Bears. GUBA debuted in the early seventies and was created by Chuck Moser, who at the time was the assistant athletic director. Moser came up with the idea for a school mascot while visiting Hawaii.

Jul 23, 2015 · A while back I posted about a mystery logo and had a few very helpful replies - thanks especially to Hartmut for telling me about Guba watches, a brand I'd never heard of. I suspect the the mystery logos must be some evolution of the Guba logos - perhaps a son?
