Apr 20, 2021 · I have green star polyps and early on i had them retract for days at a time. But since i got my water parameters in check they do not retract at all. A hermit crab will not cause them to retract for a whole day. You've got to get your parameters in check. Also check ammonia. You may need to start dosing to get everything right. Here is a pic.

Jun 15, 2022 · I bought green star polyps several days ago, all open at the store. Brought them home, dipped for 15 minutes and put them in my tank. All tank parameters are good. Been 3 days and I have maybe 5 polyps opening. What happened and how do I fix it?

Dec 28, 2011 · I'm gonna say that 1.026 is perfectly fine. I have a neon green star polyp in 4 different tanks. Under different lighting, metal halide, high power LED, and an old cheap t8 that someone had on an old 10g freshwater tank. It is all doing great. I keep my salinity around .026-.027. Mine has had a couple fits in it's younger days.

Feb 4, 2020 · I have two small frags of green star polyps. That I transferred from my 5 gallon tank into a 3/4 gallon tank. Same salt mix same temperature. Same specific gravity , same lighting , Etc. My plan is to do 100% weekly water change. The polyps were fully open in my 5 gallon. But since I switched them to my 3/4 gallon. They have not opened at all. .

algae growing on Green Star Polyps - Nano-Reef Community
Apr 3, 2006 · Assortment of algaes seemed to have started growing on the GSP mat and the polyps are not coming out. The algae seems to be going away, seems to be. My other star polyp colony Star Polyp colony did come back after I removed the algae. I tried to do the same on the GSP but to no avail removing it....

Aug 5, 2016 · I obtained a dying green star polyp for free, and want to save it. As there are only like 5 heads left, The tank's salinity is 1.026 and has a blooming torch coral, which makes me think that lighting is fine, I put in a place with low flow, as well as have medium lighting.

Dec 10, 2004 · yeah most corals will attach. the marine bond is made for bonding under water and safe for the fish. it does leave an unsightley white spot but the coral eventually grows over it and it is fun to watch.

Dec 22, 2005 · So today my emerald crab started eating my star polyps. It was a HUGE $40 rock, completely covered with little green with pink center star polyps. Best polyps I've ever seen! Well today I looked at my tank and it was eating them, and had eaten at least 2/3'rds already. He's coming out for sure, I think he'll be pretty easy to catch.
