There are numerous excellent color photos; however, no discussion of the actual shades of blue, white, and grey/gray applied to the tops of locomotives. It appears to me that SP Dark Lark Gray is probably the closest match you will find. FWIW, that paint scheme only lasted two years and eleven months, though some samples lasted a while longer.

GN sky blue scheme was absolutely awful no matter what they put it on. GN F's orange and green was a classic scheme. Best GP scheme I think is T&P's swamp holly orange and back a shown on GP-7 #1114 attached. It looked great on NW-2's and SW's as well. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/30/09 17:19 by tomstp.
