Hah! There is a good BMX shop in Falls Church. If I had a 451 bike I might give it a try. When I last checked, Velocity's 451 rim is the A23. There are a bunch of rando guys around here that use 42 mm wide tires on 23 mm rims.

The AMF stuff from the 70's as said has mostly collectors value little no vintage bicycle value. Very nice like new stuff goes for $300-500 in the current soft market and typical good used only $100-150. Some pics and details would help since AMF sold EK bike ranging from basic kids to fairly nice mid level road stuff.

I have the original dust caps markt patent and also the original chainrings 47 markt patent and 52 markt patent everything is in good shape. i have been offerd 120euro for it but i dont know ...

That MTB is not very valuable, but the parts on it have good value. The pedals alone are worth about what the entire bike is worth. Crankset, thumb shifters, derailleurs, and brake calipers all have value as well. Most vintage MTBs are underappreciated. But the parts are getting a following. The BMX crowd really likes those pedals.

Aug 19, 2011 · In BMX freestyle, one piece cranks are looked down upon because heavy riders making hard landings from jumps eventually break the crank in half at one of the "bends".... Wow, I never knew this could be an issue, I guess their was a good reason for chromoly cranks, I thought it was just a fashion thing.
