Silver Fang: The Shooting Star Gin (Japanese: 銀牙 -流れ星 銀-, Hepburn: Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Takahashi. It was published in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1983 to 1987, and collected in 18 bound volumes.

Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin (Silver Fang: Gin the Shooting Star) is a manga/anime series by Yoshihiro Takahashi. The series came out in the 1980s and has become widely popular in the Nordics, especially in Finland, despite the series' Asian origins.

Gin (銀 Silver) (Bear hunting dog): The main protagonist. A tiger-striped (tora-ge), or silver brindle Akita Inu pup. He is the pup that ultimately leads the final battle against Akakabuto.

The Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin Anime has 21 Episodes and is a television series adaptation based on the manga with the same name. It only includes the Introduction Arc and Akakabuto Arc in it’s story while the manga has one more sequel arc.

This is the first and original story in the Ginga, the Silver Fang, series. It covers the birth of the silver-coloured brindle bear-dog, Gin, whose father gets killed early in the story by the bloodthirsty bear Akakabuto. Gin promises himself, his father and his human friends to swear revenge.
