Nov 11, 2007 · Yellow glues can make an obvious glue line in such dark wood, so use poly glue, epoxy, or Tite-Bond III. I prefer epoxy, personally, but get the stuff that takes a long time to set. Yes, very splintery, but it gives a very nice finish with no fuzzing at all.

Jul 5, 2012 · When we work with teak we use 2 part epoxy and clean freshly joined edges with denatured alchol. Never had a problem gluing with any type of glue. The lighter bands probably absorb the glue better than the dense black part.

Feb 24, 2008 · I have a project coming up using wenge. Anything weird about gluing it up with standard Titebond II? I know with teak, the oil can make glue up challenging. The wenge doesn't seem to be oily like that. Thanks for the recommendations.

May 31, 2012 · Perhaps gluing it together with other woods will stop it from warping? If the wood has that kind of tendency, I will clamp it flat for a couple of weeks after glue-up. After that, I have a gorgeous flat sawn piece for the top.

You can soak your project in common household bleach for about 30 minutes to pull out an amazing look, too. It turns the brown layers white, keeps the black layers black. For paper backed veneers you can use FSV (flexible sheet veneer) glue. This is a fast tack PVA specifically formulated for paper backed veneers. Urea resin is the best way I've found.
