Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin (Silver Fang: Gin the Shooting Star) is a manga/anime series by Yoshihiro Takahashi. The series came out in the 1980s and has become widely popular in the Nordics, especially in Finland, despite the series' Asian origins.

Gin is a silver-brindle (tiger striped) Akita Inu. His fur was initially portrayed more silver in color, but was then changed as bluish-tone after the style change. Gin’s defining characteristics are the three scars on his forehead, given by a bear in his first hunt.
