I find painting and drawing on blank greeting cards or even scrap pieces of art paper, both fun and energizing, as well as being a great gift for someone special. There is no pressure to produce something finished and frame worthy.

Gill has been abstracting her landscapes lately, a new challenge in her art practise which has been a constant in her life. She remembers being a child fascinated by colour, introduced to potato prints by her aunty and being bought a set of paints by her father.

My paintings and drawings form a collection of semi-abstracted panoramic landscape and full colour still life works. They embrace the exploration of mark making – energetic and spontaneous, along with a variety of colour-ways, evoking mood and atmosphere. My main mediums are charcoal, and acrylic, with a predominance toward soft pastel.
