Myc - Wikipedia
Myc is a family of regulator genes and proto-oncogenes that code for transcription factors. The Myc family consists of three related human genes: c-myc (MYC), l-myc (MYCL), and n-myc (MYCN). c-myc (also sometimes referred to as MYC) was the first gene to be discovered in this family, due to homology with the viral gene v-myc.
The MYC oncogene — the grand orchestrator of cancer growth …
MYC and other genes in the MYC superfamily are among the most commonly activated signalling mechanisms in human cancer. MYC initiates and maintains cancer through both tumour cell-intrinsic mechanisms and host immune and TME-dependent mechanisms.

Mar 30, 2025 · MYC (MYC Proto-Oncogene, BHLH Transcription Factor) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with MYC include Burkitt Lymphoma and High-Grade B-Cell Lymphoma Double-Hit/Triple-Hit. Among its related pathways are Prolactin Signaling and Constitutive Signaling by NOTCH1 HD+PEST Domain Mutants.
MYC in cancer: from undruggable target to clinical trials
Feb 19, 2025 · MYC is among the most infamous oncogenes in cancer. A notable feature that distinguishes it from other common oncogenes is that its deregulation is not usually due to direct mutation, but...
c-Myc Target Genes Involved in Cell Growth, Apoptosis, and Metabolism
The Myc-estrogen receptor (Myc-ER) fusion protein system has become a standard for establishing the direct regulation of a candidate target gene by c-Myc . In this system, the Myc-ER fusion protein is retained in the cytoplasm via chaperone proteins.
An Overview of MYC and Its Interactome - PMC - PubMed Central …
We present a view of MYC as a sensor that integrates multiple cellular signals to mediate a broad transcriptional response controlling many aspects of cell behavior. We also describe the larger transcriptional network linked to MYC with emphasis on the MXD family of MYC antagonists.
The MYC oncogene — the grand orchestrator of cancer growth …
Sep 10, 2021 · The MYC proto-oncogenes are among the most commonly activated proteins in human cancer, yet the clinical efficacy of MYC-targeted agents remains to be demonstrated.

Mar 27, 2025 · In addition, your package will include a detailed data report in both TSV and JSONL formats. This gene is a proto-oncogene and encodes a nuclear phosphoprotein that plays a role in cell cycle progression, apoptosis and cellular transformation. The encoded protein forms a heterodimer with the related transcription factor MAX.
The MYC oncogene is a global regulator of the immune response
May 3, 2018 · The MYC proto-oncogene is a gene product that coordinates the transcriptional regulation of a multitude of genes that are essential to cellular programs required for normal as well as neoplastic cellular growth and proliferation, including cell cycle, self-renewal, survival, cell growth, metabolism, protein and ribosomal biogenesis, and differen...
MYC: a multipurpose oncogene with prognostic and therapeutic ...
Aug 9, 2021 · MYC (mostly referred to as c-Myc) is a super-transcription factor encoded by the MYC gene located at chromosome 8 q24.21 [1]. The MYC oncoproteins (C-myc, N-myc, and L-myc) controls the transcription of nearly 15% of expressed genes [2].
