gear 4, doffy made fun of it got smacked down. in almost every pregear fight enemies told luffy to act serious, and he always said he was being serious...this is because of how silly he looks while doing his rubber moves. Oda even said that is why he decided on rubber. it literally is exactly how its always beem. I don't like how it looks neither.
