This is a list of locomotives and rolling stock based at the preserved Great Central Railway at Loughborough in Leicestershire, the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) at Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, and the Mountsorrel Railway near Leicester.

The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) (formerly known as the Nottingham Heritage Railway) is a heritage railway located at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre (NTHC), on the south side of the village of Ruddington, in Nottinghamshire.

So the design of the S160 was conceived as early as 1942, only months after the US had entered the war and a good two years before the invasion actually happened. From 1942 to 1946 approximately 2100 engines were built by the main US locomotive builders.
