If you ask the history of the Soviet all-wheel drive trucks, it turns out very interesting moment: under the GAZ-62 index there were three different cars. The development of each of them was carried out independently and at different times.

ГАЗ-62 — советский малотоннажный грузовой автомобиль повышенной проходимости с колёсной формулой 4 × 4 и кабиной над двигателем. Являлся специальным автомобилем десантных войск. Рассчитан на транспортировку 12 человек или 1,1 т груза в сложных дорожных условиях.

Unter der Bezeichnung GAZ-62 (russisch ГАЗ-62) wurden in der Sowjetunion zwischen 1940 und 1962 insgesamt drei unterschiedliche Prototypen geländegängiger Lastwagen gefertigt. Sep 23, 1998 · The noticeable difference of technical parameters 1956 and 1959 series of GAZ-62 is due to heavy re-engineering that took place 1958-1959. In its main parameters early (1956) GAZ-62 is close to american jeep Dodge-VK51.

Soviet GAZ-62 light military truck/tractor (version with Cab-forward) was produced in a limited series in the1959-1962.

GAZ-62 was equipped with a six-cylinder gasoline unit from the GAZ-MM car. With a volume of 3.5 liters, this engine developed a power of 76 horsepower. Interesting fact: this engine has many similarities with the internal combustion engine of the American Dodge D5.

GAZ-62 – lekki samochód ciężarowy produkowany przez firmę GAZ w latach 1959–1962. Do napędu użyto silnika R6 o pojemności 3,5 litra. Samochód wyposażony był w 4-biegową skrzynię biegów z reduktorem. W 1959 GAZ-62 przeszedł modernizację wyglądu nadwozia, zwiększono także moc silnika.
