When equipped with the six-cylinder GAZ-11 engine, the car received a new radiator shroud and longer bonnet, and was designated GAZ-11-73, sometimes referred to as the GAZ M-11. Production of this variant ended in 1948 when production of its successor, the GAZ-M20 Pobeda, was completely mastered.
