Normally the default gateway of LAN devices is a private IP address since the default gateway has to be reachable on the LAN without going through another router/gateway. Default Gateway and Broadcast Address : r/networking - Reddit
Apr 3, 2012 · I understand that the default gateway is used to forward IP packets that do not match up in a routing table. So say I have a network with an IP of 192.168.1.32/27 . The first IP address "192.168.1.33" is setup as my default gateway. But I have been reading a lot that the "broadcast address" should always be the last IP.

Jan 29, 2024 · Well you should probably set it to your gateway address. :D Windows: Just open up cmd, type ipconfig and hit enter. Should be an IP next to "Default Gateway:" Use that number. DNS will probably be the same address as your gateway. Linux: open a terminal and type ifconfig. If ifconfig gives you an error, try "ip address show" without the quotes.

Need help. IP conflict : r/Ubiquiti - Reddit
Jan 13, 2024 · So I bought a Unifi express and 8 port switch. I have a cable modem/router combo.
