The All-Seeing Eye was an objectively better server browser but GameSpy spent more on marketing and a slick looking UI.

Saints Row 2, Star Wars Battlefront, Nintendo's WiFi, and DS/Wii online gaming and a whole lot of stuff died when the servers went down.
