Feb 18, 2021 · Gt 1030 GDDR4 is trash and avout half as strong as the gt 1030. Gt 1030 is about even to Vega 8, GTX 750 or half of a GTX 1050. GTX 1050 is a better deal in every way except when you are unable to install it. I got a gt 1030 because my pc has a 160 W PSU and 50 W rail power, a GTX 1050 would kill it.

A 1030 or any similar card would be severely bottlenecked by that system. The 7770 that was already in there was also. It's time for an upgrade. You can buy a prebuilt machine with an i5-3570 or similar and then add a GTX 750ti.

The 1030 absolutely isn't VR capable. At best you'll get low resolution, crappy results at low, inconsistent frame rates. And VR isn't like playing on a monitor. You can't just chug along at 25-35fps.

Since the next lower desktop card to a gtx 950 was the 750 ti, that's what the 1030 was getting compared to, and the 1030 didn't reach that level of performance.
