Phase Lock Loop (PLL) - Navipedia - European Space Agency
The Phase Lock Loop (PLL) tracks and estimates the current misalignment between the Prompt correlator and the incoming signal phase, within the tracking loops. For that purpose, the PLL uses integrations, filters and Numerical Control Oscillators (NCO) – …
A GPS Phase-Locked Loop Performance Metric Based on the …
We propose a novel GPS phase-lock loop (PLL) performance metric based on the standard deviation of tracking error (defined as the discriminator’s estimate of the true phase error), and explain its advantages over the popular phase jitter metric ...
Tracking Loops | GEOG 862: GPS and GNSS for Geospatial …
There are code tracking loops, the delay lock loops (DLL) and carrier tracking loops, and the phase locking loops (PLL) in the receiver. Typically, both the code and the carrier are being tracked in phase lock.
We propose a novel GPS phase-lock loop (PLL) perfor-mance metric based on the standard deviation of tracking error (defined as the discriminator’s estimate of the true phase error), and expound the advantages of this metric over the popular phase jitter metric (which is based on the true phase error) using theory, numerical simulation, and ...
Use DPLL to Lock Digital Oscillator to 1PPS Signal
This article will describe a DPLL that locks a digital oscillator, i.e. a Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS), to an external 1PPS timing reference and which can achieve time alignment with GPS to better than 1 microsecond.
Constant-bandwidth and variable-bandwidth loops are studied using theoreti-cal models, simulation, and tests with actual GPS signals. Constant-bandwidth loops with loop bandwidths near 15 Hz are shown to lose phase lock during scintillations.
Innovation: Reducing the Jitters - GPS World
May 1, 2014 · Signal Tracking Loop and Tracking Error The carrier-phase tracking phase lock loop (PLL) is introduced first to understand the theoretical connection between the carrier-phase tracking errors and the signal noise plus receiver clock phase errors. A simplified PLL is shown in FIGURE 1 with incoming signals set to zero.
Carrier loop architectures for tracking weak GPS signals
Jul 15, 2008 · The performance of various carrier recovery loop architectures (phase lock loop (PLL), Doppler-aided PLL, frequency lock loop (FLL), and Doppler-aided FLL) in tracking weak GPS signals are analyzed and experimentally validated.
PLL bandwidth and noise in 100 Hz GPS measurements
May 7, 2014 · Analysis of standard deviations, spectra and autocorrelation functions of the differences between recorded and true displacements revealed that an increase in the PLL bandwidth leads to reduction in correlations and increase in low- …
locked loop (PLL), time-domain approach, difference equa-tion. The design of Phase locked loop (PLL) tracking loop is a key component to the GPS receiver, since the stability of tracking loop performance has direct im-pact to positioning performance.
