Ex-Great Northern Railway Ivatt 'C2' (LNER 'C12') class 4-4-2 Tank No. 67392. Built at Doncaster in July 1907 as GNR No. 1542 and withdrawn in October 1956. The sixty Ivatt 'C12s' were a particularly elegant example of the Atlantic Tank type favoured by many companies at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries.

From 1900, the GNR adopted a system of classification based on a locomotive's wheel arrangemenent (using the Whyte Notation), with each arrangement being represented by a letter. Initially, the letters A to J were allocated in ascending order of driving axles and descending order of leading axles.

Earlier engines were quickly brought into line. LNER AND AFTERWARDS LNER Class C12 was intact at Grouping: 60 in service The engines had 3000 added to their numbers (about 1924).
