May 6, 2017 · I am redoing the brakes on my 1957 GMC Napco 4x4 half-ton. The front brakes are entirely different from the back. Does anyone know anything about this different style of brake shoe? I have found drums and wheel cylinders but am having a tough time with the shoes and hardware kits. Thanks for any help. Mark

Dec 4, 2019 · A 261 engine would bolt right in, would help some. Look for tubeless(22.5) rims, work on P-30 front spindles, two speeds are almost all low and lower ratios, so don't waste your time there.

Dec 17, 2018 · Just a SWAG, but I believe the GMC is a bit heavier. However, the better gas flow through the GMC cylinder head would probably make the added HP and/or torque gain of the GMC over the Chevy offset the weight advantage of running the Chevy. Chevy ports suck like a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner, with no practical way to improve the flow.

Feb 28, 2007 · Hello all,well I finally started on my 63 Gmc 3/4 ton.The diffs are out and apart,and I noticed the front had been rebuilt at one time,looked like a gear failure.Any how the font is a 375 ratio and the rear is a 410 is this normal?

I have the factory repair/overhaul manual but I am only able to find specs and adjustments for 1 and 6. If anyone could point me in the right direction to how or where I could find these it would be greatly appreciated. This will get me on the road!
