Apr 3, 2017 · I have a feeling GM is still confident in the 1.5 LFV - they picked the same engine for the redesigned 2018 Equinox. Only GM knows the whole picture; if they were dropping like flies I doubt they would open another can of trouble.

I doubt the tune was responsible because the same V6 engine came from factory with 7000-7200 rpm redline in multiple cars, but that's the exact sort of scenario that GM could use to deny coverage.
