Apr 8, 2025 · If you don't have time to look at it, it's a chopped-in-half GG-1. According to the photographer, it's Amtrak 4846. His comments say that it was used as a switcher and to melt snow/ice off of switches in the winter.

Jun 9, 2023 · It was a snow blower, not a plow, it used air to blow it off the tracks. There was no plow affixed to it to push snow.

May 19, 2022 · This GG1… or perhaps G 1/2… was damaged in a snow plow incident, what was left was half the locomotive, which is also used as a snow plow. Its unclear if it was powered or not on account of it being half a locomotive, but the pantograph suggests it may be possible.
