Feb 26, 2013 · I had my GFR tested 2 months ago. It was 55. I am scheduled for a CTA scan with contrast dye. I was retested today and the results are GFR 66! and creatine level1.04 How is this possible? In the past 3 years my Gfr has gone from a low of 39 to this new high. I am worried because the CTA scan will now be done without hydration from the hospital.

Aug 26, 2010 · They sent me a copy of the results, and when looking over them, I am worried about my GFR level. So, when I looked at the results, my GFR was 66. The chart said anything above 60 is considered normal, but they had averages on there of where your GFR should be based on age and it is way off - I think it said average for my age group is 107.

The bad way one's GFR can raise is exactly in the boat you are in: diabetic kidney disease. In general with age, one loses about 1ml/min of GFR a year; however, if you have full-on diabetic nephropathy, you lose 1mL/min per MONTH.
