What is the difference between DDR3 and GDDR5? - Super User
As I said, Before I begin, this is not a duplicate of What is the different between DDR3 and GDDR3, so idk why it has been marked as a duplicate this is an entirely different question. windows - Is GDDR5 compatible with DDR3? - Super User
Apr 21, 2014 · GDDR is the memory on the graphics card. What you need to make sure is compatible is the PCIe card slot on your motherboard. DDR3 is the system memory, which uses a completely different bus than graphics memory. You do not have to worry about any issues other than if your motherboard has the correct PCIe slot for that card.

Oct 11, 2017 · CUDA cores are calculated based on the number of multiprocessors present in the GPU as well as the number of ALU lanes and the width of the ALU lanes. For my GeForce GT 730 (DDR3, 64-bit version): (2 multiprocessors * 192 64-bit ALU lanes) = 384 CUDA cores The memory bandwidth is also calculated based on the number of multiprocessors on the GPU: (2 multiprocessors * 800 MHz) = 1600 MHz ...
Does the memory type of a GPU and a Motherboard need to match?
May 28, 2019 · Nope, they don't. The ram on the video card is on the video card and soldered in. The ram on the desktop is well, on the desktop. You can run anything from DDD3 to GDDR5 on a video card with a desktop that does DDR2 or 3, with a PCIe slot of suitable 'size'. Video cards have different requirements from PCs and tend to use faster/different ram than PCs internally
