Dec 5, 2020 · It allows me to get leverage even with a flush magazine. I don`t need or want them on a 19. I also prefer the Gen 4 trigger over the Gen 5. The 5 has no defined wall to lean against when trying to make a shot at a good distance (25+). It rolls straight through like my model 10 smith. I also like the chalky gray finish of the Gen 4 better.

Feb 24, 2024 · Glock discontinued all gen 4 civilian sales. They currently only offer gen 3 and gen 5. To answer your other question, no you will not be able to add finger groves to a gen 5 without an aftermarket sleeve. If you are set on a gen 4, look around in the used market. If you are near a GT Distributors, they just took in a bunch of gen 4 G26 in Dallas.

Three of those parts (items 3, 5, and 6) can function in both Gen3 and Gen4 pistols under appropriate circumstances, leaving only three parts (items 1, 2, and 4) that are absolutely generation specific.

Sep 3, 2018 · I have the Gen 3 and absolutely love it. I a have shot the Gen 4 and it's is very comfortable to shoot. The big difference is, the Gen 4 has different texture, adjustable back strap and a larger mag release. For me that wasn't a big deal as I have Large hands. For me the best feature is the larger mag release. I liked that feature.

Feb 26, 2016 · All of the Gen 3 subcompact pistols are compatible with Gen 4 slides as the RSA was the same in the Gen 3 as the Gen 4. On the compact and full sized pistols, a Gen 3 slide will fit with the Gen 3 RSA but there will be a visible gap between the front of the slide and dust cover. The pistol will function fine this way.
