Jun 27, 2006 · I just acquired a CWC G10/98, which I presume to be from the year 1976. It is lovely, by the way, but I wish to learn as much as possible about its history. The markings on the back, should indicate branch of service to which it was issued, NATO #, date, etc., but I don't know the formula.

Battery hatch for ease of replacement, G10 1998 onwards takes a Renata 371 battery. 3-4 year battery life. Fixed bars, supplied with 18mm grey CWC strap. Please advise if you prefer a different colour. Cabot Watch Company supplied the G10 from 1980 and was contracted by the MoD until recent times.

Jun 26, 2009 · This blog entry is on the markings on the case back of the G10 field watch issued by the British Ministry Of Defense. This is based on my readings and on the case back of my small collection of G10 watches. I have G10 watches made by CWC and Precista.

MWC's G10 watch has a water resistance rating to a depth of 100m/330ft as well as a larger case diameter than most competitors. Although this G10/98 Specification watch traces its origins right back to MWC's earliest G10 designs the 100m water-resistant models are twice as water-resistant compared to other leading G10 suppliers.
