Jan 20, 2007 · I looked at Farr 37's, Frers 36's and Express 37's when I was looking for my boat. I have sailed on all three. If your primary interest is racing, then I would lean towards the Express 37 which seem to still be reasonably competative in PHRF and even in IRC. Both the Express and the Farr 37 were well constructed and were reasonably robust designs.

Nov 9, 2006 · The are the same hull, slightly different interior and on The Carroll Frers 36-2 an elliptical keel and rudder. I would guess the elliptical keel might be a bit faster, althoough that was a bit of a fashion statement in my opinion.

Jan 15, 2007 · Carroll Marine Frers 36 brochures claim these measurements also. Also, I had measurements taken of the keel and rudder on a Hinterhoeller and Carroll Marine. The measurements suggest that the keel chord, 8" below the hull is about 6-7" longer (72" vs 79") on the Hinterhoeller.

Aug 11, 2008 · Owned an F-3, the Hinterhoeller version of the Frers 36 for 5 years in the PNW. A few things we learned: Main thing I found out about the boat was that a penalty main really balanced the boat out. The McKee brothers originally helped set the boat up and that was their first and best suggestion.

Sep 10, 2008 · As said above the F3 was built by Hinterholler and the hull molds were later bought by Carroll Marine who changed the deck/interior and built the Frers 36. I owned one of the Carroll Marine boats and loved it. Was a great compromise boat but clearly more towards the race side of things than the cruise side.

Frers 30 with tiller - SailNet Community
Jul 17, 2021 · Currently looking at a 1987 Frers 30 with tiller in St Pete. Quick tap of chainplates and fittings show no soft spots, interior clean, no leaks, no cracks on deck. Besides a survey and sea trial, anything to be aware of? Owned a Frers 36 and loved the performance and stability. Thanks for the help.
