For instance, if paying by check they have to have the check 10 business days in advance. Also, if paying by credit card, the hotel provided a form to me that I have to give my guests for them to fill out. Also, parking is strange. If they are only attending the wedding, parking is free, but if they are spending the night it is $5.00.

Although a different situation, there is a restaurant inside a hotel that I occasionally mystery shop. No free parking anywhere and even meters are very hard to come by. I'm reimbursed up to $15 for parking but the instructions, in bold letters, warn to not use the hotel valet parking because it is a flat day rate of $35.

I put it on a "travel and accomodations" card, along with hotel block information (and shuttle info, since I'm doing that) and inserted it into the invitations.

In the invite the couple included a special parking pass for the guest to present to the parking attendent. The couple paid for the parking based on the number of parking passes that were turned in. We booked a couple trolleys to take guests from Loose Mansion (where there is plenty of free parking) to Loose Park, wait during the ceremony, and then take guests back to the Mansion. The trolleys we booked were a bit on the pricey side, especially since we're only using them for two hours, but i know you can rent buses or shuttles a bit cheaper.

Especially if parking in your city is expensive. I would be annoyed if I was forced to pay $20 to park for your wedding because there wasn't free parking or enough parking available. Can you work out a deal with a parking garage close by to be charged only for the guests that park there for your wedding? You may be able to get a discounted rate.

Definitely mention on the wedding website that there is limited free parking on a first-come first-served basis. I would likely include information to that effect on your reception insert or in a separate insert with the formal invitations.

Any good ideas on Bridal Shower locations in Detroit, Canton, Ann Arbor, Novi or Dearborn ? I'm looking for a place that has private dining for at least 40 that isn't more than $15/pp. thanks

Sep 13, 2012 · Our reception is there, and you *have* to do valet parking. I checked on every other option, and you can't use the ramp nearby and street parking is really hard unless you have like 50 people.We're getting around it by using a hotel that provides a free shuttle for our guests (90% are OOT).
