Apr 22, 2012 · What are the three sights used for? The one that is open at the top is for 100 yards. The others are for 200, 300 and 400 as far as I remember. I copied and pasted the following from Surplusrifle.com which I believe was then continued on Tennessee gun parts which I can no longer find.

The rear sight is an elevation-adjustable rotary type with apertures for 200 m (220 yd), 300 m (330 yd) and 400 m (440 yd), as well as an open "V" notch for 100 metres (110 yd). The front sight is elevation-adjustable via a special tool. Operation is identical to the standard Mauser design.

Oct 14, 2012 · My FR8 shoots about 6" low and 8" right at 100yds without the bayonet in place. With the bayonet in place and the rear sight set to two hundred yards I didn't have to change windage at all and have learned front post height so I'm dead on at 100yds.

Jun 18, 2014 · Will have to check with B-Square, though my rifle doesn't have a drift-pin hole, it has the welded-in-place battle sights that have the rotating wheel for ranges 100 through 400 meters. Unless you're talking about the pin that holds the rotating wheel in place..?

Feb 2, 2007 · Does anyone have any information on the sight adjustments for a Spanish FR8. With the sights set at the "V" or open sight position there is one aperature if the sight is rotated to the right, and from the same "V" position, two aperatures if rotated to the left.

Oct 8, 2007 · Can anyone tell me the configuration of the FR-8 rear sights? A picture w/ the yardage or meters for each sight on the wheel will help as I have to sight-in the rifle at 100M.
