Mar 13, 2018 · Fox’s Biscuits got its start in 1853 with freshly baked brandy snaps made by founder Michael Spedding at his Batley bakery. Spedding’s batches were a hit. A few years later, they began selling at shows and shops. In 1897, Fred Ellis Fox, Spedding’s son-in-law took over the bakery and renamed it F E Fox & Co.

In 1853 Michael Spedding baked his very first batch and within a few years he was selling to shows, shops, and traders from his Batley bakery. After Michael’s son-in-law, Fred Ellis Fox, took over in 1897, he renamed it F E Fox & Co – and that’s where we get our name.
