Apr 15, 2007 · Mullet, what tires? Assuming stock size (diameter) and stock gearing, you would need 6850 RPM to hit 226 MPH. If we assume that the tire diameter could grow 1/2" at speed, then you still need 6725 RPM to get to 226MPH. Stated another way, your tire diameter would have to be a whopping 2" larger than stock to give you 226MPH at 6400 RPM.

Mar 17, 2006 · The fact that the Gt is able to handle the speeds we are talking is without question an automobile milestone. Especially with the Ford GT having a streetable suspention. Rock hard race suspention,,,,OK. But a car with plus 200MPH stable speeds and drivable, simply awesome. That's why the GT is so cool. It's not the top speed itself.
