Nov 26, 2017 · From reading through the specs in my Ford manual, I'm seeing that the 2000 and 3000 diesels have the same cylinder bore therefore using the same pistons. I see that the 3000 stroke is longer than the 2000, thereby increasing compression, horse power and cubic inch displacement by pulling the piston down the cylinder a bit further.

Your hydraulic pump has been swapped out somewhere in its past, which is not uncommon. I would contact YT and explain your situation. They can probably cross-reference to find the correct kit for you.

I have a 1973 Ford 3000. It had an engine knock, no idea how long it had been there. I have put about 20 hours on it since I bought it. The first ten or so were loud because of a big old hole in the exhaust manifold - I couldn't hear the knock. I ran it another ten or so hours after replacing the exhaust manifold and muffler.

Oct 30, 2024 · My son was driving the 1953 Ford 3000 model today and reports- white and then heavy black smoke from exhaust and then he stopped it. Then starter would not turn over engine. Put into top gear, rocking back and forth would just move crank but only a few inch's. checked and NO oil!! so suspect a seized bearing or piston.

My question today is where does the hand throttle linkage attach to the Simms injection pump? The only place looks like a lever between the pump and engine block. Can only feel it because it’s not visible.
